Casey James Drew, 54, of Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away suddenly on Monday, March 11, 2024. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. 

Casey was born on August 11, 1969, Casey was the cherished son of Donald and Sarah (Urell) Drew. He graduated from Regis High School and furthered his education at the University of Northern Iowa, eventually establishing himself in his hometown where he embarked on a successful career in finance.  Casey dedicated 26 years of his professional life to the City of Cedar Rapids, culminating in his recent appointment as the Vice President, Chief Financial/Operations Officer at Kirkwood Community College. His commitment and expertise left an indelible mark on the institutions he served.

On September 21, 2021, Casey exchanged vows with his beloved Andrea Cooper in a joyous ceremony at Disney World in Orlando, Florida alongside their best friends Michael Holmes, Karl Hoffman and their daughter Hayden. Their union was blessed with the arrival of their son, Cooper James Drew, born on November 20, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Casey adored his son, relishing every moment spent together as a family.

He is survived by his adoring wife Andrea; cherished son, Cooper; his mother, Sarah; two brothers, Mark (Paulette) and Gary (LeAnn); three sisters, Diane (Mike) Micka; Julie (Joe) Corpstein; and Jody (Steve) Schmitz; along with numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald; a brother, Duane; and a goddaughter, Angie. 

In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorial donations may be made to the memorial fund established for Casey and Andrea's son, Cooper at GreenState Credit Union. 

Casey's memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the profound impact he made on the lives of those around him.
