Dustin was born on June 8th, 1992 in Cedar Rapids, IA. Dustin is the son of Robert and Tina Smiley. Dustin was a 2010 graduate of Kennedy High School. He attended Kirkwood Community College where he received his degree in Diesel Mechanics. After graduating he worked for 7 1/2 years at Gatr Trucks in Cedar Rapids, until his passing.

To know Dustin was to know his playfulness, loyalty, positive cheerful uplifting attitude, and his big bear hugs. Dustin loved listening to music, the Packers, woodturning, poker with friends, bowling, and most importantly spending quality time with his friends and family. Dustin was a loving, caring, reliable friend to all, and he had a smile that was infectious. He was a joyful, selfless person and improved people's lives by demonstrating what is important, and not to stress the small things in life. Dustin will be remembered by his contagious laugh, and his impact on all the hearts he touched.

Our hearts will always miss Dustin along with the love he gave us, and it will take time to figure out how to go on with our lives without him. But our hearts will more so forever be sad for the future that was taken from him, and the moments in life Dustin will never be able to experience for himself.

"To hell with what people think. Just be who you are and you'll be happy". -Willie Nelson
