The Fletcher family is in my thoughts and prayers. As a kid, Walker and I used to make the best lemonades for our lemonade stand out front on Lincolnshire. Marnie and Bill are the source of so many great memories for me and others. Finally they are together again. Love to you all.

I'm SO sorry to hear about Mr. Fletcher! It appears he had a very full life and may he RIP. I remember him running the Rapids Chevrolet dealership when I was a kid. Back then it was Rapids or Zimmerman Ford....LOL. I was shocked to learn about Matt's passing! My heart goes out to the entire Fletcher family...your Dad was one of the good ones.

So sorry about your loss Andy (and Shelley and family). Your dad was loved by so many in CR for so long. He will be missed but his legacy lives on - he truly touched many lives.

My connection to the Fletcher Family goes back to 1953 when I started in Sales for Gazette Classifieds. I stopped at Rapids daily to retrieve ads from Truman Hanson and G.O. Fletcher's desk sat right beside Truemans. Bill, a young man would show up occasionally when his schedule of college, military and business allowed. Over the years we became good friends. He was always, friendly, helpful and an all around great guy. Thanks for the Memories Bill. Tony Staab

Andy and Dan - So sorry to hear about Bill. He and Marnie were so nice to us - probably nicer than we deserved, given our behavior back then. Always ready with a smile and a handshake. Took Matt and me skiing a few times, always encouraging Matt and me running patterns on Washington’s (empty) practice field in the summer, commandeering the pontoon boat @ McBride ... all around, a great guy. I’m happy for you to have had 90+ years to enjoy his special presence. Cheers - Pete

Bill Fletcher Family, Sorry for your families loss. As a member of the Coe College Golf Team, we are all so sorry for Bill's passing. Yes there were great trips in Bill's big blue van. Sharing many memories and his valuable insight in to life. He greatly cared for the game of golf and more importantly all of us students of the game. Thank you for sharing him with the Coe College Gold Team for all of these years. Thanks, Greg Clauson, Class of 1987

I worked for Bill at Rapids Chevrolet. He was always fair and would do things to help people who needed it and wanted it kept secret. When he lost a friend to high cholesterol, he paid for every employee of his to get tested. He always asked about the family of his workers, as he cared for everyone. He was a great man and a wonderful person.

Aww...so sad to read this, Fletcher family. Your dad was such a peach - he and mom were classmates all through Franklin and always close friends. You all were a important of our family in CR and I am offering my condolences on your loss. Warmly, Kathy McHugh Bauer

Many wonderful memories and grand times. A Great Guy and I was privileged and blessed to know him....God Bless the Fletcher Families I will remember him at Mass.. Bud Strub

Dan and Andy my thoughts are with you. Your Dad had lots of talents and was a very special man. My Dad and Bill were great friends and he was a mentor in my life.

"Won't you come home Bill Bailey..." with fingers snapping to the song, a grin and a gin martini, Bill laughed and shared his stories and enjoyed his life. I remember Bill as being the life of the party and as Dan lovingly would share, "holding court." I watched and admired how Bill loved Marnie so deeply. A remarkable marriage and love affair. I saw ongoing Bill's pride, the joy his 3 sons brought to his life and their families. A true story teller, Bill shared his wisdom, strength, spirituality and love. Golfing and teaching "the boys of Coe College" to be athletes and men was a gift to so many. Witnessing Bill at his end of the Coe season one could see his eyes sparkle with pride. The Coe men celebrated Coach Fletcher and honored him as they hit golf balls across Lake McBride. That cabin held much laughter and life memories for the Fletcher Family. I will always remember how greatly Bill impacted so many lives with his spirit of giving as well as my own life. Amazing mentor, kind father in-law, and friend. Fletcher family I am so sad for you loss. Bill I am honored to have known you. Bless you. With love. Jo

So sorry to hear this news. I remember when "Uncle" Bill took my brother Pat and I on a ski trip after our dad died. I don't think he ever forgave me for tripping him off the chair lift! LOL! Lot of great memories at the lake for us Murphy's. Oh and Cobbly-Clutch still lives on!

Dan and Andy, so many wonderful memories of your family during my college years! I know that you are feeling the loss of your special role model father - he was special in so many ways. As you move forward, remember all the lives he touched and his generosity to all. Celebrate his wonderful life! Mike and Ginny Z.

So sorry to hear this. Bill (and Marnie) was such a wonderful, positive kind of guy. He was really encouraging as some of us learned to play golf at CRCC.

Dan and Andy Know that you and your families are in my prayers. Your dad always had a smile on his face and enjoyed our stories about the Y and Coe swim teams travels with vans he provided. He will be missed. Rob

I am so sorry to hear Bill passed. He always had a warm smile and a wise word. I knew him through my attendance at Immaculate Conception Church and the many bible studies we had there. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

To the Fletcher family, Your dad meant so much to me. At church he would always stop my granddaughters and tell them how much it meant to him to watch them help me do sacristan duties. Then out of the blue a note would appear in my mail telling me he was so proud of me and everything that I did for the church. He was just such an amazing person to be around. Then I would see him at Hy Vee having coffee with the Coe guys. He always knew me wherever. I will truly miss him.
