Steve was born February 25, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the youngest son of the late Isadore Marvin Feder and Ruth Lillian Padzenskiy. He graduated from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids before embarking on a distinguished academic journey. He graduated with honors from Tulane University, majoring in International Political Relations and Latin American Studies. He furthered his education at the University of Manchester in England, studying International Relations with distinction, and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa College of Law, where he served as Vice Chairman of the Moot Court Board. He cherished the lifelong relationships that he maintained with his former professors and friends.
Throughout his career, Steve practiced real estate law for many years. He also served as a commercial agent for various companies, Prudential, Berkshire Hathaway, and Caldwell Banker. In his earlier career, he was part of a league council team to the General Growth properties in Des Moines, Iowa. Throughout his career he built lifelong relationships with his employees and maintained those relationships throughout his life.
Steve is survived by his soulmate, spouse, and best friend of 40 years, Nicholas. He is also survived by his two brothers, Ronald and Neil Feder, and their wives; his nephew, Michael; two nieces, Debbie, and Julie; and many wonderful and loving cousins. Steve considered many of his special friends to be family and relied on their great support throughout his life.
