Iris M. Waddilove, 84, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on November 14, 2017 at Manor Care Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. In honor of Iris a visitation will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 - 8 P.M. A service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 1 P.M. at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.
Iris was born on October 9, 1933; the daughter of Charles and Grace (Moore) Harris. Iris was a loving mother, Garland and Iris expressed that love to their children and by opening up their home to many foster children. She was a true people person, she loved hearing their stories and sharing her own. Iris and Garland were members of First Christian Church and founding members of New Disciples Church.
In late 2015, Iris had to move into Manor Care due to her health, during that time she brought joy to the residents and the staff alike. Every Saturday, her granddaughter Bridget would do her nails. Iris was so proud of them and would show them to everyone.
She inspired everyone by her sharing and caring. Iris will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Iris was the last surviving Harris family out of total of 7 siblings. Also preceding her in death is a granddaughter Jamie Lynn Waddilove.
Left to cherish Iris’ memories are husband of 62 years Garland Waddilove, children Garland Jr. “Joe” (Caroline) Waddilove, Tim (Nanette) Waddilove, Pam (Tom) Tiffany, John (Pamm) Waddilove, Jenny (Dave) Waddilove, 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
