Patricia Louise Brunner (Scheuermann), 76, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Meth-Wick Community, surrounded by her loving family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2026, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the church prior to the Mass. A luncheon and time for fellowship will follow Mass at the church. Burial will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pat was born to Ruby (Hanson) and Lloyd Scheuermann on November 30, 1949, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She was the second of five siblings and grew up alongside her sisters, Sharon (Bill) Schulte and Cindy (Paul) Bammel, and her brothers, Bryan (Sharon) Scheuermann and Lee (Jane) Scheuermann.
Pat graduated from Regis High School in Eau Claire and went on to earn her college degree from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. On July 3, 1970, Pat and Steve were united in marriage in Frankfurt, Germany.
Pattie’s passion was her career as an educator. She was a full-time elementary school teacher for more than 30 years. After retiring, she continued doing what she loved by working as a substitute teacher for several years at elementary schools throughout the Cedar Rapids area. The majority of her teaching career was spent at All Saints Elementary School, where she especially enjoyed preparing second-grade students for the sacraments.
Pat was a devout Catholic and faithfully attended St. Jude Catholic Church. She was also an active member of her church community and volunteered for several years at the annual Sweet Corn Festival.
Pattie is survived by her three children, Bridget (Mike) Zuercher, Matt (Amy) Brunner, and Erica (Cory Ramler) Brunner; her eight grandchildren, Brandon, Megan (Jake), Peyton (Hunter), Ashten, Ryan, Jack, Kaylee, and Caitlin; and her great-grandson, Andrew. She is also survived by her sisters, Sharon and Cindy; her brother, Lee; and sisters-in-law, Dawn, Diane, BJ, and Sharon.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Steve; her parents, Lloyd and Ruby; her mother-in-law, Clarice; her brother, Bryan; her brother-in-law, Mark; and her great-grandson, Carson.
