Kevin D. Svoboda, 57, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids.
A memorial gathering celebrating Kevin’s life will be held from 4-8 pm Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A private family graveside will be held in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his mother, Nola J. Svoboda of Cedar Rapids; Sister Karen Svoboda of Cedar Rapids; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and father, Richard L. Svoboda, several aunts and uncles.
Kevin Dean Svoboda was born March 6, 1957 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Nola J. (Faulkner) and Richard L. Svoboda. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1975. Kevin was a deputy sheriff for Linn County for 26 years until his retirement in 2010. He most recently has worked as a security guard for PMX Industries.
