Oh Kev.. We lost touch and I am at a loss We last saw each other in 2011, when I visited Cedar Rapids with friends. We didn't keep in touch since I'd moved. I have fond memories with you, especially around Christmas. Hugs to you in heaven dear man. I just wish I would've been there for you..

Janice and I are so sorry for you loss, our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Karen, So sorry for your loss. Know that we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

Karen - My thoughts and prayers are will you during this difficult time. *Hugs*

My thought and prays go out to his family, he was a good person and he is going to be miss very much

I met Kevin about 35 years ago when he was an officer for the Amana colonies. We hit it off right away and I ended up hiring Kevin as a Reserve for the Williamsburg Police Department. I knew I never had to worry about anything when he worked. As everyone has said you always knew Kevin would have your back. Kevin was always there for me and he was an officer I truly respected. As Clint Eastwood once said, "I rode with him and I have no complaints." Sue & I will miss you Kevbo

I am sorry to hear about Kevin aka Kevbo to all of us at the Sheriff's Office. I knew Kevbo for many years and shared some good laughs He is gone way too young, and my Heart and prayers go out to his family

Karen, I was so sorry to hear about your brother. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your Mom at this difficult time.

Our deepest sympathy on the loss of Kevin. Kevin was a good friend during our high school years, and we would occasionally run in to him when we would return to Cedar Rapids for visits. He always had a kind word and an open heart for his friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Nola, So sorry for your loss. I didn't know Kevin but knowing you he had to be one of the best. Dave

Karen, Sorry to hear about your loss.

Kevin and I had been friends for 40 years. I met him when I was at CRPD and he was in Junior Police. He was a regular ride-a-along with me. He was a friend and confidant from that point on. He made law enforcement his career, he was very good at it, and was always there to help those in need and me in some of my most trying personal times. He was loyal and understanding. He even helped with Christmas basket projects after leaving LCSO and was there to help others. As Jim said, he always had your back. His family came first and he was devoted to taking care of them. My condolences to Karen and Nola. You folks will really miss him, but be rest assured he secured a place with God long ago. I will miss you Kev and our weekly talks and emails. My girlfriend, Naomi, whom he met sends her condolences also. Please take care Nola and Karen and know he made a difference in this world. Rick SyWassink and Naomi Esp

I remember growing down the street from Kevin and junior and senior high with both of us flowing up rest in peace my friend

Karen and Nola, I am so sorry for the loss of Kevin. My thoughts and prayers are with the two of you.

Thoughts and prayers for Kevins family and friends.

Kevin and I met while in Junior Police back in the early 1970's at CRPD. We both chose the profession and I had the privilege of working with Kevin at LCSO and other places. He was a true cop and did his job well for many years. We will all miss you, Kevbo. Keep an eye on the rest of us that are still plugging away.

This is a very sad time for all. Kevin is the type of person you hope to meet in life I was lucky, I met Kevin. I am proud to have been able to call Kevin ( KEVBO ) my friend for the past 34 years. This world was a much better place with you in it.. You will never really leave as you will remain in our hearts and memories. I could always count on Kevin no matter what he was just that type of person, he would always have your back. Your work here on earth has earned you a peaceful rest. I along with so many others will miss you.. Ken Patrick #168 Ret.

We are sorry for your loss, and will keep you in our prayers. Kevin was there for my wife and me during her illness, and we will miss him so very much. Kevin had the heart of a child and at times that of a lion. You could always count on him to be their when needed, and he always had your back. He will be missed by all. God bless and keep watch over this gentle giant. Sheila and Jim Sorensen 121
