Sorry I did send this earlier. Jim and I were in Alaska and came home to the your tragic news. How terrible for your family. When we lost Mom we were all so sad and really miss her each and every day. I hope you will remember the great things about Chris. He sounds like he loved life. I know, I have a son, Cory, that sounds like Chris. May God help you overcome this tragedy. You are lucky to have such a great family. Bless you. Geri Haubner Swanson

I have such great memories of Chris and his passion for music. God bless you. You touched my life by following music that we all loved for years. To his Father...I enjoyed meeting you and please find comfort in the fact that your son had so many wonderfull admiring friends.

I was so shocked to hear of Chris' death. I had just spoken to him on the Thursday before, since I work near the Black Angus, and stopped in for a drink after work. We chatted for a few minutes, and he told me he was going to try to get up to Sweet Fanny Adams soon, because he "missed the music." To learn that weekend that he was gone left me in shock.

I always appreciated Chris' appreciation and enthusiam of the music, and he obviously enjoyed his role in the overall atmosphere and ambience of Fanny's. He will be missed.

Dear Family & friends of Chris,
My sincerest of condolences go to you all.
Up here, nestled in the beauty of our Colorado mountains, Chris brought his warmth, humor & shared our love for the moutains we call home.
He put up with our foolishness & always had a ready smile for all.
We have just found this link, although we have had our own version...
Please visit our mountain on line community, Pinecam.com, in the Living Room Forum so you will know that his mountain friends also have him and his family in their hearts and prayers.
Blessing to you all,
Mary

Sue, Zach, Tyler and Kinney Family, We are so very sorry for the loss of your beloved Chris. We really didn't know him personally, only as the youngest sibling in family anecdotes over the years. But, in reading the guestbook entries here, we feel we know him better than ever and what a gift he was to you all! May you be comforted by your many beautiful memories of Chris. Our hearts go out to you in love and prayer.

To the very special and loving family of Chris Kinney:

Words cannot describe the loss of Chris. He was my son's Rich Bradley best friend. I have known Chris since 6th grade. I was fortunate to see Chris through the years and have many fond memories. Chris will always have a special place in my heart.

To Sue and the Kinney family:

I only know Chris through my special friendship with Sue, the stories she has shared, and the special bonds I know this family holds. Reading these additional stories has helped me know Chris a little more, and understand depth of caring and love from so many family and friends. My deepest sympathies to Sue and the Kinney family.

Denny

On behalf of my wife,my family and myself, our deepest sympathy to all Kinney family and friends. Chris was not just a friend, he was my brother. Chris never knew a stranger, and through him I have met many a friend. I will miss Chris more than words can describe. And through Music and Laughter I will always hear Chris and carry on. I will not say goodbye, only So Long My Bro.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Chris, and am very thankful for the time that I was able to know him back when he went to Regis, and I at McKinley Junior High. I remember him as always being a SUPER NICE guy, with a very warm smile, and very fun. He will be remembered this way for me. I am grateful for having known him, and say a prayer for him and his family...Sincerely, Marjie Parsons

To Chris Kinney's family and many friends:

My heart goes out to all of you, particularly his co-workers, as news of Chris' unexpected death was, indeed, a shock. Wish I could have been there with you this past weekend in Cedar Rapids, reflecting upon his existence and the way he touched us.

I met Chris through his "cuz" Tim Sullivan, during the late 1980s. Chris and I both served as part-time employees for Sullivan Delivery during difficult periods in our lives.

While Tim and I were both much older than Chris, oddly, we were all on the same wave-length in regards to dealing with life, as it were, and perhaps more significantly, the influence and meaning of music and the all-important role it played out for us. His good buddy, Brian "McP" knows this better than most.

Back then, so it seemed to me, a lot of people close to Chris were especially worried about his immediate future and constantly questioned his life intentions and ambitions. While these inquiries did, indeed, cause him some genuine stress, outwardly he appeared to be more concerned with the present - enjoying life and his passion for good music to the fullest. That, in itself, is most admirable.

As it turns out, and similar to what has transpired with myself and the likes of, say, my dear and respected pal, Mike Wampler, Chris was a "late bloomer" full of love to be extended.

As delayed as many of us, Chris, I've learned, found his true calling and "soul mates" before his time. For that, and knowing he was happier than ever, we can all truly celebrate Chris' life and impact on our own.

Sincerely,

Chip, Nora, Grace & Bridget

I have wonderful fun and fond memories of Chris. I will miss his laughter.

On behalf of the extended Marshall family, please accept our heartfelt sympathy on Chris' passing. My sadness is mixed with joy as I remember my time spent with Chris in 5th through 9th grade. Running the neighborhood with Chris, Paul Wolf, Kevin Bjornsen and Jon Barnes. Chris was a blast to hang with and had such a great sense of humor. We also enjoyed watching our brothers play ball at Regis together and attending the games together at Kingston Stadium. May God Bless your family during this time and find peace in God's promise to us believers...that eternal life means forever.

Regards
Steve Marshall, Mt. Pleasant, SC

I was very sad to hear about Chris' passing. My deepest sympathies to the Kinney family, all of Chris' co-workers in Denver and his many friends across the country.

To the Kinney clan, I send my heartfelt sorrow and sadness about the loss of Chris. He had a contagious smile and a lively spirit. Having him around was always an adventure! I wish you all peace and comfort as his light will shine forever in everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

I am so sorry for the loss that we all will feel without having Chris in our lives. Reading everyone's fond memories is very touching. Chris was my first high school boyfriend and the memories of hanging out at Dan Gavin's house and taking the car out in the middle of the night...make me smile. He was a great person. I have not spoken to Chris in years but all of the memories came back in an instant when I heard of his passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and his true love Amy.

Dear Kinney Family,

On behalf of the Martinez Family, we are all deeply saddened by the sudden death of Chris. Please accept my sincere thoughts and prayers at such a difficult time. Chris was one of my best of friends in High School and had such an impact on my young life. His sense of humor was contagious and always had a way to make us smile and laugh when times were tough.

God rest his soul and god bless you all.

Sincerley,
Omar Martinez and Family

Dear Jane and Kinney Family,

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Chris' passing, and as all of your friends do today, I too hold a heavy heart in hearing of your loss. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the services held for Chris, but please know that the thoughts and prayers from me and my family will be with you during this trying time. I will always be grateful for the kindness and frendship extended to me from your family, and as I think back on those fun times, the unfairness of all of this stings just a little bit more. Be strong Kinney's; lean on each other and the strong faith you have, and be certain that one day you will join your Mom and Chris for eternity.

With our deepest condolences,

Ted Bonar and Family

I was very saddened to hear about Chris' sudden passing. Although it had been many years since we had seen each other, the fun times and fond memories with Chris while growing up in Cedar Rapids returned like it was just yesterday. His fun-loving nature and humor always brought a smile to those people who knew him. I feel fortunate and am glad to have been one of those people.

My sincere sympathies go out to his fiancé Carly and the rest of his family and friends. Chris and all of his loved ones are in my prayers. God bless.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the Kinneys during this unbelievable time.

We have some really great memories of Chris : ...but the best memory we have of Chris was when he introduced Mary and I to each other for the very first time. Chris gave us something that will last forever.

Chris, may the four winds blow you safely home. Love, Dan and Mary Gavin.

My deepest and most sincere condolences to the Kinney family. Chris was a good friend who just recently I had spoken with and was thrilled to hear how happy he was with his life in Colorado. He told me how much he enjoyed having Amy and Carly in his life and that things were going well. Chris meant a lot to a lot of people, none more so than his family and he will be deeply missed by all. His wonderful spirit and good heart were a joy to be around. Something tells me a soul as good as CK's is surely at peace. God bless.

ANDY,
I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR OF YOUR LOSS.

GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY,

MONTY

I knew Chris several years ago when he was living in Cedar Rapids and he was one of those people that I won't and wouldn't want to forget. He meant so much to so many because of his big heart and the way he made you feel just being in his presence. The world is NOT a better place today without someone like Chris in it! All his friends loved him so much, I wish I could be there to say good-bye. I am thinking of you all and will be there in spirit. Lots of hugs and kisses...

My thoughts and prayers go to Chris' family: deepest condolances. I will always remember the laughter and warmth he brought to everyone around him.

I was so sad to hear about Chris. I have such great memories of him, many which make me laugh out loud. He always had such energy and a way to make everything fun. The words used to describe him in his memorial truly capture his spirit. My prayers go out to his loved ones and all who feel his loss. May you find comfort in each other and warmth in the memories you share. God bless.

I worked with Chris at Black Angus. He was definatley one of the best guys I have ever met in my life. He was so very kind and funny. My prayers are with his family and Amy and Carly. He wasn't just my coworker, he was a friend, and he will be dearly missed by all, he touched everyone's life he came accross.

I want to express my sorrow and sadness on the sudden death of Chris. Although it been many years since we had seen or spoken to each other I will always have fond memories of Chris. About 10 years ago I remember when Chris called me and asked me if I was interested in going to a Crosby, Stills, and Nash concert. He knew that was one of my favorite music acts. "Hell yes I would go" ! He said he'd take care of getting the tickets and would pick me up. Imagine my surprise when he got us front row tickets ! So close we could tie David Crosby's shoe laces together ! It is still the best concert I've been to. Whether going out for a beer or just hanging out at the apartment, Chris was always an interesting person to be around. Kyle Ealy
