Christopher J. Kinney, 38, of Pine, Colorado, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, August 21, 2005, in an automobile accident near Pine, Colorado. Funeral Mass at 11 AM Saturday in All Saints Catholic Church with Rev. David O'Connor officiating. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday with a Wake service beginning at 7 PM.
Survivors include his father, Frank Kinney of Cedar Rapids, his fianc?, Amy Reeves and her daughter Carly Reeves, who were the loves of his life, two sisters Susan Westerdahl of Cedar Rapids, and Jane Kinney of Miami, Florida, two brothers Dan and wife Joan Kinney of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and Andy and wife Zyann Kinney of Edwardsville, Illinois, nephews Zach and Tyler Westerdahl, Nolan and Eric Kinney, and nieces Kara and Rachel Kinney, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Donna Kinney.
Christopher was born May 27, 1967 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Frank and Donna Lessard Kinney. He graduated from Regis High School and attended Kirkwood College. He was currently employed as a manager of The Black Angus Restaurant in Denver, Colorado.
Chris will be remembered as a fun-loving, colorful, and gregarious person, whose love and knowledge of music spanned genres and decades. He had many and varied rich experiences in life, an incredible sense of humor, and generosity of spirit.
Chris believed in the grand gesture and took great pleasure in entertaining and being the host.
He had traveled far and finally had found his home in the Colorado mountains with his true love. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
