Robert A Chambers, 53, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha, Iowa. Services will be Friday, August 8, 2025, at 11:00 am, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be held 9:00 am to11:00 am prior to the service at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories Stateroom.
Survivors include his wife of fifteen years, Jill Chambers, sons, Devon Morrison and Dolan Morrison, sister, Wendy (Ron) Sandler, parents, mother-in-law, Rhonda Winans, father-in-law, Dan Sandberg, sister-in-law, Heather (Rob) Hohenshell, sister-in-law, Kristy (Matt) Launder, along with many nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by father-in-law, Frank Winans, grandparents, Ann and Roy Hume, Joyce and Royce Chambers.
Robert Alan Chambers was born December 8, 1971, to Lee and Cynthia Chambers in Ames, Iowa. His family moved to Cedar Rapids in 1985, and he graduated from Washington High School in 1989. He worked for Lumen Communications for 25 years as a data technician. He met Jill in 2007, and they were married in 2010 in Iowa City where they lived until they moved to Cedar Rapids in 2018. He loved animals and had many hobbies including boating, fishing, attending sporting events, live performances at Theatre Cedar Rapids, and spending time with friends and family. He was loved by everyone he came across and will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and friendliness.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Theatre Cedar Rapids in Robert’s name.
