Mr. Cleo Luter, 81, went to be with the Lord May 25, 2022.  A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 6 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories.  A service will begin at 1:00 p.m.  

Mr. Cleo Luter was born May 6, 1941, and raised in McLemoresville, Tennessee, to the late Cleopher and Gurtrude (Hunt) Luter.  Cleo gave his life to Christ at an early age.  He graduated from Webb High School in McKenzie, Tennessee class of 1961.  He loved playing basketball and hanging out with his classmates and cousins.

Cleo then moved north in the early 60s.  He lived in the states of Illinois, Iowa, California, and Arizona.  Cleo was an entrepreneur; he loved Bar-B-Quing and making sauce, which he received two first place awards at the Cedar Rapids, Iowa Bar-B- Quing Round- up.  Cleo had a passion for fishing, gardening, and joking around with family and friends.  He was a hard worker.  Cleo retired from Honeywell Manufacturing and enjoyed his retirement in Cedar Rapids.  

Cleo was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Luter, and his parents, Cleopher and Gurtrude (Hunt) Luter. Cleo was blessed and leaves to cherish his loving memory seven beautiful children, Evangeline Hall of McLemoresville, TN, Caroline (Russell) Dobbins of Cedar Rapids, Keith Luter of Cedar Rapids, Shanette Luter of North Liberty, Felisha (Jeff) Butler of Cedar Rapids and Candice (Boston) Jacobs of Cedar Rapids, Cleavon (Michelle) Prince of Gilroy, CA; step children, Kelly Grayson of Irving, TX, Jessica Gibson of Avondale, AZ, Andrew Gibson of Davenport and Destanie Gibson of Avondale, AZ;  twenty one grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
