Russell LaVerne Stambaugh, 68, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away June 20, 2022, at his home.
Russ was born to Marvin and Margaret (Rupp) Stambaugh on September 16, 1953. He was the oldest of five. Russ spent many days and nights looking after four younger brothers. Russ married Bonnie Folkers in 1972 and had two children Lori Sue and Todd Russell. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He retired as an iron worker and was a member of the Local 89.
Russ enjoyed fishing, playing pinball, pool, bowling, raising hell in his younger years, and his famous Russisms. He loved his family and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone. He will be missed by all that knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Richard, and his grandson Michael.
Russ is survived by his children Lori and Todd; grandchildren, Tiegan, Emilee, Andrew, Benjamin, and Makenzlie; great grandson, Kylee; three brothers Ron, Roger (Beep), and Ralph. The family would like to recognize Barb Schlicht as a great mom, and two daughters Russ loved as his own, Miranda and Amanda.
