I met Jim when I was a little boy and he was always kind to me. He was a best friend of my late Grandparents, Bob and Joan Zirbel. He will be dearly missed and my blessings go out to Mary and the extended family!

My late husband, Judge William Thomas, and I had great respect for James Bradley and chose his law firm for our own legal services. It was always a pleasure to talk with Jim and Mary at restaurants and social events. It was clear how much they enjoyed people and each other. He leaves a real legacy of service and integrity.

Jim was always a steady hand and counselor for our family through the years. I always chided with my father (Hall) that we financed/built Bradley, Riley from the river to present location. Blessings to Mary and the extended family. He will be missed by all!

So sad to read this! Jim and Mary we knew many years in many organizations! Loved when they came to our home for discussion groups ! Loved sharing tidbits about our children and their children as we greeted each other no matter where our paths were crossing! Known mary for years from Questers or Peo etc and saddened for her loss! I am crest fallen. I am heart broken. The world has lost a GREAT man. This City has lost a pillar of ethics and goodness, BUT I have lost a friend. I first met him when he set up my first corporation, and I was but a youth. He stayed true to our relationship by always helping me, and my family, whenever there was a time of need. He never chose to judge, at least never me or my family. He would stop an important situation to come out to the lobby to listen and to help. He helped my parents, and he helped my brother, too. He came to my father's funeral and sat in the second row. I was so proud to have him come to share that with us, and to help support our loss. I just wish that I could do the least of these for you, Jim, and your family. I never knew a person who had more ethics. I was sitting in my Masters class in Mount Mercy in an ethics class and told the instructor of what I knew of Jim and how he was. She slowly nodded her head in agreement. I used to look for your name, Jim, on the black marble of the buildings and was proud that I knew you. When I graduated, I sent you an invitation. So many years ago, prior to that day, I sent you an invitation to my business open house. You were unable to attend, but sent me a hand written note to apologize. Once again, at my Master's graduation, you sent another hand written note. You couldn't attend, because you were going to Colorado to watch your grand-daughter graduate from college. It was again hand written, but it always made me feel how important it was to have you write that and explain. I always wanted to have you attend, so I could show you that your trust and faith and support had gotten me to a new place in my life. Yes, I owe you so much, Jim, and I need to find a way to repay your goodness. I will try, and I will always remember my friend, Jim Bradley.

My thoughts are with you at this sad time. Our paths crossed often over the years as my husband Tom, was also a lawyer.
