I just recently learned of the passing of Alex. In addition to being an athlete on the Duhawk’s Wrestling Team, Alex was a valued member of an academic team, Loras College Mock Trial. Brad Boffelli and I were blessed to have had Alex as our student. He was a delight to work with and he always persevered no matter the challenge. Our sympathy to your family as you continue to mourn your loss, but celebrate the life that was Alex. With blessings, Professor Mary Lynn Neuhaus

Rita and Lamar. Our deepest sympathy to you and your large family. I know how close most of you were and this has to be hard. So sorry for your loss.

Our deepest sympathy on the death of Alex. We have you in our Prayers.

I had the pleasure of knowing Alex at Washington H.S.. He was a wonderful young man and I valued his friendship. It is unbelievable that he is gone. We are so sorry for your loss.

Our family , Send to your family our condolences. We're so sorry for your loss. The Keslars

My daughter only had the priviledge of being coached by Alex for a few months but she loved him. She's always been a back base since she is a very tall girl. Alex was the only one that could convince her to try to be a flyer. He threw her up in the air and she absolutely loved it. She talked about it for days. She said he was fun at practice but also expected the hard work to be put in. She will cheer for ISU this season but she will be cheering with him in her heart.

I was on the dance team at Loras College while Alex cheered. He was always smiling and making people laugh. He had a good spirit and soul, and impacted many. I am so sorry for your loss.

My deepest condolences to the Grafft family. I met Alex in Grant Woods Drum Corp with Slayton, we were all in there for quite come time! It was like another family! Alex was always happy, polite, and funny as ever!!! I will always remember his smile lighting up corner to corner of every room he walked into! He will be missed by so many people, and families!

I met Alex in 2018 when we went through the Department of Corrections Academy together. He was always laughing, smiling and sharing great stories, all while staying focused on the information being presented. He had a great presence about him and loved to talk about his coaching job for Iowa State Cheer. He was so proud of his cheer background and coaching accomplishments. He even stunted with a friend of mine that he had never met, just for fun. He was so loving and kind. He will be truly missed. God gained an amazing angel on Saturday and while he will be missed here on Earth, God had other plans for him and his beautiful soul. Godspeed Alex, the world was a better place because of you. Hugs, Denise Myers

To the loving Graft family and their dear friends, Thank you for sharing your beautiful son with us all of these years. He has brought so many of us together, and he is credited with introducing my husband and I 10 years ago this summer. I also met Alex 10 years ago, and I have enjoyed his unwavering friendship ever since. Although he was the busiest man alive, always working and improving, he always made time for his friends. Whether it was just getting together to talk about social issues over frozen pizza, or throwing up some truly amazing stunts in the gym or drill hall, it always felt like you were the most important person in his life in that moment. I have never met a man loved by more women. George Clooney has nothing on Alex. He is incredibly missed by our family and he will be remembered so fondly for the rest of our lives. We will be thinking of you all during this impossible time. All of our love, The Rivera Family

Prayers for all of you as you grieve the loss of Alex in your lives. We love you all.
