Charles and I extend our condolences to the family of Robert Schurk. We know of Bob through deep friendship with his daughter, Diane. We are grateful for that link to his spirit and humanity. We note that the anniversary of World War II’s “Victory in Europe” day was last week. Bob served in Europe with US forces during that critical period for our nation. The personal sacrifice of deploying in wartime overseas - to a foreign country, with no knowledge of how long you would be gone, or even if you would ever return to Iowa - requires great courage. Bob faced this as an inexperienced 18-year old and we are grateful. No doubt he gave enormously to those who are closest to him, but we admire and thank him for what he did that touches us all.

So sorry to hear of Bobs passing. I met him while working with him at Iowa Pipe and Supply. He was such a great guy to be around in the workplace. I really appreciated seeing him at mt fathers funeral in 2008. That’s what good friends do, support each other

I just learned of Jack’s death. We Both were in new horizons band. My deepest sympathies to the family, he was a great guy.
