Vicky, my condolences to you during these difficult times. I worked with Randy briefly at Cargill and had the utmost respect for him. I will always remember his sense of humor during challenging times and his work ethic- he always went above and beyond what was needed. Praying for you.

Vicky, so sorry to hear of Randy’s passing. I enjoyed working with him for many years at Quaker Oats. He had quite the sense of humor, it will be missed by everyone who knew him. He was such a good person to work with, helpful in every way. Prayers to you and his family at this time.

My sincere condolences to all family and friends of Randy. I worked with and around Randy for many years at Quaker Oats, and a better co-worker and person would be hard to find. Always focused and always positive !

I was sadden to hear about Randy. It brings back all those fun (maybe wild is a better word) that we had while attending Kirkwood. I am reading that card games were still being played decades after Kirkwood and I wouldn't be surprised to hear that cribbage was still popular. I am sorry that I am not there to talk to you as I am currently a snow bird. If you feel the need to get away, I would love to have you come stay with me. You will be in my thought and prayers in the coming days and week. Also please let Sandy and your mom and dad know they are in my thoughts and prayers as well.

Randy Evans, Past-President of the Thursday Noon Optimists of Cedar Rapids, IA, will be greatly missed by everyone in the club who knew him. He exemplified all that is good about the Optimist philosophy of living well and doing good. A modest man, hard-working, and dedicated to doing the best possible. I will miss seeing him at our Optimist meetings. He was always the first to arrive, and to work to ensure that all our meetings went smoothly. On behalf of myself and all the other Thursday Noon Optimists who had the pleasure to know Randy, I send good thoughts to Vicky, Randy's family, and all who knew and loved this fine man.

Vicky so sad Randy has passed, Randy was one of my favorite people to work with he always had a keen sense of humor and I enjoyed talking with him about many things. When he retired missed having him around as one of the few guys around in the office :) I always admired Randy for his strong work Ethic and his organization and his commitment to his goals as a husband and partner to you. He will be greatly missed by all it saddens me to know he had so many more things he wanted to share and do with you if there is ever anything I could do please let me know. I will always remember Randy and hope I can be as good a person as he was.....

I'm just devastated at the passing of my very best friend. We first hooked up in 10th grade right after the doors to JFK High School first opened; and although there were periods of time since then when a few hundred miles separated us, we spoke on the phone regularly and always got together when I returned to CR for a visit. When we moved back to town in the fall of 2015, Donna and I got together with Randy and Vicky at least once a month; and our card games in the kitchen were filled with laughter. Vicky: our thoughts and prayers are with you and we will be forever grateful for the opportunity to re-connect with you both and will continue to cherish our friendship and memories.

So, So sad to hear that Randy is no longer with us and Vicky, my heart goes out to you. I had the pleasure to work with Randy and his loyalty, commitment, and positive attitude was apparent everyday! Our customers loved Randy as he always took it as a personal challenge to ensure that their needs were met. I remember when I was off for maternity leave for 3 months, and the team never missed a beat and this was largely due to Randy always "having the reins". Vicky: Randy loved you so and your closeness is something that so many aspire to have - he always spoke of you with the utmost respect and consideration and I loved that about him. I was always thankful for Randy making me laugh and could take such tense moments and add a comment that brought levity to a work crisis that had to be fixed. I so wish I could come back for the services as Randy was a loved man within the walls of Cargill. Although I can't make it back to CR, please know my thoughts are with you Vicky. Randy Evans......cheers to you, you were one fine man.
