Pearl was born April 12, 1917 in Ackley Iowa to William and Frederika (Thieben) Voy. She was the oldest of four children. Pearl attended Ackley High School where she was not only a good student but a ferocious basketball player. She was united in marriage to Raleigh Wolf on August 3, 1935. Raleigh and Pearl spent their early years farming and raising five children. Pearl was an awesome softball pitcher for the town league. She and Raleigh loved to go dancing. They relocated to Marion, Iowa after their children were grown where they both worked at Collins Radio, and were very active in a square dance club.

After Raleigh’s death in 1976, Pearl returned to Ackley to be close to her family and friends. As a lifelong member of the Ackley Methodist Church she was active in Ruth Circle, sang in the choir and her baked goods were always appreciated. She was an avid walker. She shoveled her own snow, mowed her own lawn and raked many, many leaves until she became a resident of the nursing home at age 99. Mostly Pearl loved cooking and spending time with her family.
