Patricia Eileen Offt, 50, of Cedar Rapids received the gift of eternal life with her Lord Jesus in heaven on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha.  Visitation will be held Sunday, June 17 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom.  A memorial service will be Monday, June 18 at 11:00 am at King of Kings Lutheran Church in Robins, Iowa. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

Patricia was born on May 21, 1968 in Oelwein, Iowa the daughter of Richard and Ardeth (Seehase) Ramsey.  Her childhood years were spent in Arlington and Oelwein, moving with her family to Vinton in 1976.  Patricia graduated from Washington High School in Vinton with the class of 1986. She graduated from The University of Iowa in 1990 with a degree in Communications. After graduation, she worked in Chicago and Fort Lauderdale, FL, before returning to eastern Iowa in 1992.  Patricia was united in marriage to Jonathan Offt on January 1, 2000 in Vinton, Iowa.  She was employed at the Dance Academy of Cedar Rapids as a teacher and worked as an independent choreographer.   

Patricia enjoyed traveling, writing poetry, drawing, painting, dancing, and numerous women’s bible study groups. She was a member of the King of Kings Lutheran Church.  Patricia’s greatest enjoyment and love were her children and attending their various activities. She joyfully volunteered her time and talents at Trinity Lutheran School and Cedar Rapids Washington High School.  Family times were very meaningful to Patricia. She was a devoted, wonderful and loving Christian, wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and teacher whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. 

She is survived by her husband Jonathan; four children, Lydia, Evelyn, Josephine, & Augustus all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two brothers, William (Barb) Ramsey of Muscatine, Iowa, and Thomas Ramsey of Washington, DC; a nephew, Craig (Melissa) Ramsey and a niece, Kari (Kyle) Morton all of Muscatine, Iowa; her in-laws, Jim and Joan Offt, sister-in-law, Jennifer (John) Hayden and their children, Taylor, Carter, Ella and Kaleb, all of Blairstown, Iowa; and her life-long friend Mary (Ken) Sigman and their son Austin, all of Tampa, Florida.  She was preceded in death by her parents.  

A special thank you to the staff, students and families of the Dance Academy of Cedar Rapids and King of Kings Lutheran Church for their tender love and care given to Patricia and the family. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha and Dr. Ghosh and staff for their excellent medical care. 

In Patricia’s honor, memorials may be directed to the family and they will be given to various organizations on her behalf.
