Fred Edward Bascom, 86, of Tulsa, OK, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, July 8, 2018. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories.
Fred was born May 18, 1932, the son of John and Mildred (Davis) Bascom, in Vinton, Iowa. On June 14, 1975, he was married to Janet Lewis in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Fred worked as a diesel mechanic for the city of Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Bascom; two children, Ed (Pam) Bascom Sr. of Robins, and Sharon Campbell of Cedar Rapids; three stepsons, Terry, Bob, and Scott (Donna), all of Tulsa; two brothers, Richard and Eugene; two sisters, Sarah (Lonny) and Ruth (Bernie) Conger; five grandchildren, Edward (Lindsay) Jr., Tim (Barb), Lisa (Lee) Bradley, Corey (Kim) Campbell, and Clinton (Kitira); and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Robert, Harold, and Kenneth; and brother-in-law, Lowell Bark.
