My prayers go out to Daves Family. I worked with him for many years at Rockwell and he was a great person to work for/with, my life is better for knowing him. His smile and personality will be happy memories for me the rest of my life.

So many smiles when I think of David in grade school and high school!! His house up on the hill close to Moberg's, Wavra's, and Herzog's. Friday night dances in Spiekermeier's garage - us girls would hang streamers, the boys got the record player ready. Going to CCD together every Thursday, and me, in band, sitting by Dave's pretty & sweet girlfriend (one-day wife!) with the long auburn hair :). David was always quick with a smile and a laugh - what an excellent guy. I know your hearts are breaking, Pauline. Mine hurts for you as I send you my loving sympathy. One day, every tear will be wiped away, thanks be to God! Dear Lord, let perpetual light shine on our friend, David ~ Susan (Feeney) EHS Class of '76

We at the Early Bird, were extremely saddened to hear of David's passing. He was an absolute gem of a guy, smile that reached far, and so very kind. We will miss him dearly on those stops through town on his bike rides. You have our thoughts, and prayers.

I had the pleasure of working with Dave on several different projects at Rockwell Collins over the past 7 years. He was one of the nicest people I have ever worked with. My deepest condolences to the family.

My deepest condolences to Dave's Family. I worked with him on 777x program recently, he was happy, kind, supportive... He will be truly missed, I include him in my prayer.

Pauline, I was just with you at Dave's retirement. We were going to ride bikes together. I remember when i would bring my first 2 children to your house and we would watch the antics of your dog "Circles". I am so sorry. Words don't work at a time like this. I look forward to seeing Dave again.

Pauline and family, I am so sorry to hear of David's passing. He is always one of my first memories when I think about my first days in school in Enderlin. He was a wonderful man and you will be watched over by him from heaven above.

I was so sorry to hear about Dave’s passing. Please accept my deepest condolences, Spiekermeier family. I worked with Dave several times over the past decade, and I feel luck to have had the opportunity. He was a fantastic man. He was always so patient and friendly to everyone he met. His positive attitude lit up every room that he entered. He was an example of what everyone should strive to be. He will definitely be missed.

My deepest condolences to Dave's family. I worked with Dave on 747 at Rockwell Collins and he was always incredibly patient and kind. More than once he went out of his way to help me understand complex algorithms, and as a junior engineer I was always grateful for his help and feedback. My prayers are with Dave and his whole family in this difficult time.

So sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. I have known Dave for years at work but a few years ago he moved into my row of offices at work. We would have discussions about cycling, family and retirement strategies. I really enjoyed those conversations. Dave will be missed but not forgotten.

My condolences to the family of Dave Spiekermeier. I first met Dave in the fall of 2016 when he joined the 777X Flight Display platform software team. It was an honor to work with Dave. He set a great example of humility, and hard work. I enjoyed our many discussions dealing with the challenges of raising young boys, especially the various (and humorous) stories about how the boys delay going to bed on time. May the memories of the good times give comfort to Dave's family and friends.

Spiekermeiers - At Rockwell Collins, I worked with Dave on the 747 displays airport maps project from early 2008 to early 2011. There are so many things that I learned through Dave’s example on that team. Since I was the junior engineer on the team, I was fortunate to have strong mentors in the more senior engineers on the team (i.e. Dave and Jeff Spicer). Dave would always take time to explain why something was the way it was in the software or how a specific algorithm worked. It was exciting to see our individual pieces of the software work together and finally be able to display an airport map. I had so much fun on that team. We kept in touch after the program ended as well. I enjoyed meeting Dave and Jeff for lunch occasionally and having them meet each of my kids when I was on maternity leave in 2011 and again in 2017. Dave would share updates on his family, and it was always evident how much he enjoyed spending time with his grandson and how proud he was of his family. Overall, Dave’s example is included in what I have strived for in subsequent team environments - and it always will be.

Dave was a wonderful guy. I knew him on GPS for a long time and later in other projects. He was one of a kind.

Pauline and Jacob and Dave’s extended family; Please accept my deepest sympathy and condolences for your loss. Dave was one of the most considerate and intelligent engineers and I had the distinct pleasure of regarding Dave as one of my favorite colleagues and friends at Rockwell. Dave and I worked on the GPS project and I vividly remember the good times we shared on the Airbus A380 project. We had a wonderful opportunity to work with several engineers from Airbus. They were tough on us and Dave supported me in every way he could when it was time to present our work. We enjoyed our work and shared some laughs during lighter moments. I cannot thank him enough for his friendship and I hope and pray my words can assuage your grief. We should take comfort in the knowledge that Memories of Dave will live on with us. Please accept my condolences and may God bless you and Jacob with good health. Steve

Dear Pauline, Bill and I are so sad to hear of Dave's passing. As you well know Dave was a just all around fun guy to spend time with and made friends wherever he went. The years doing Ragbrai and all the special times we shared with Dave and Mark Ross will not be lost in our memory. It was a joy to get to know Dave and recalled our last meeting with him at Susie and MARk's 60th Birthday party. May you find a path forward through all of this ...Bless You Joyce and Bill Stoffel Dubuque Iowa
