Memorial
Leland Jon Miner, 75, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017, at Hiawatha Care Center, after a lengthy illness surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Friday, October 13, in the Chapel of Memories at Cedar Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 10 am prior to the service. Burial will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include, wife, Sally Miner, of Cedar Rapids, daughter, Colleen(Mike)Hunt, of Cedar Rapids, and son, Leslie Miner, of Cedar Rapids. Grandchildren, Josh(Stephanie) Hunt, Mandy, and Nicole Miner, great grandchildren, Caleb, Jaxon, and Ryker Hunt. Brother, Carroll(Kathyrn)Miner, of Belle Plaine , and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Lela Miner, and sister, Betty Macku.
Leland Jon Miner was born October 22, 1941, in Belle Plaine, Iowa. He was united in marriage with Sally Jacobi on November 25, 1961. In his early years, he loved boating and camping with friends and family. Later in life he enjoyed spending time working on the yard, and feeding the birds, enjoying nature. Leland was a fan of various types of music, and loved listening to country music, and blues. Leland will be greatly missed by many.
