Our loving mother Barbara Marie Willis born June 22, 1955 in Moorehead City NC, passed away Tuesday night at 11:55 pm at the Iowa City VA Hospital due to complications from diabetes. She was surrounded by family and friends at her bedside.
She is survived by her daughters Bev Willis, Angela Willis-Budnik, and Lekia Huston as well as her six grandchildren.
Barbara is a Marine who spent most of her life as a Foster Mother to many children in need. When she wasn't enjoying her favorite shows on the SciFi channel, reading books, or watching a movie with her son-in-law she loved to play cards and talk about her family and close friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 3:00 pm. A reception will immediately follow at Bushwood Sports Bar and Grill 350 Edgewood Road NW, Cedar Rapids, IA.
