Patti, Susan, Gary & Tom, I was so sorry to learn of your father's passing. My mom, Betty Mahon, had mentioned that this was the first year she hadn't heard from your dad at Christmas and was worried about him, so I "googled" him and discovered that he had passed just a few weeks earlier. I have so many fond memories of your parents from our St. Stephen's days in the mid 60s, plus your dad's visits to Diamondhead in Arkansas. I still recall with a smile the mornings after their bridge get-togethers (the Borg's, Schmidt's, Robinson's & Mahon's) at our house. The house smelled like smoke, bowls were still half filled with bridge mix, and my mom wouldn't talk to my dad because he'd trumped her ace at least once during play. Your dad was so proud of all four of you and I always looked forward to reading his Christmas update to Mom. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I knew & worked with Don for many years through the Cedar Rapids SCORE chapter. He held many positions, including local & regional leadership positions, within the SCORE organization, and so we 'travelled' in some of the same circles for many years after he retired & joined SCORE, as I represented SBA at SCORE meetings & functions. I always enjoyed talking & working with Don. My father was in the Army Air Corps in England in WWII, so we could talk a bit about true war stories. And you could always count on Don when he committed to something. Nothing less than his best was what we came to 'expect'. And Don & I would talk about 'cars' as well - some of the interesting discussions we had which I will miss, along with his friendship. My condolences to his family. He was a great guy!

Don was a great guy. Although I worked where he did for several years, I really got to appreciate him as a friend later at St Mark's and reunions and randomly on one of the area golf courses. He was a wonderful guy.

We are so sorry for your loss. Don was a long-time good neighbor at the Village. We will miss conversations, the double-horn tap as he drives by, and the straight-arrow reverse into his garage! With sympathy, John and Diane Rosteck

So sorry for your loss. It was a pleasure to know Don the short time we have lived at Beaver Creek. Don always had a story or two to tell. We will all miss him.

Rick and I are sorry to hear of Don's death. It was so nice to hear from him at Christmas this year. It sounds like he lived a good life until the very end. Rick, Libby, Sally and I all had nice times with him when he and Betty came to visit and/or babysit the kids here in Minneapolis. Our condolences to you. Take care, Jill and Rick

Tom, Sue, Patti and Gary, I was so sorry to learn about Don's passing. He was a kind and loving grandfather to David and Scott. You are in my thoughts. Dana
