I didn't know Richard but, gosh, after reading this obituary, I wish I had. May you always remember his wit and compassion.

Richard Wagner looks to be a great man with a great sense of humor. He will surely live on with his obituary in all our hearts.

Robin and Renee, just got back and saw this, so sorry on your fathers passing. He was great guy , I was fortunate to know that sense of humor!!!. I met him and Ruth as I work at Milestones, he truly deserved caregiver of the year and more, your parents were great, and I thought a lot of Ruth, she was a pleasure.! Sincerely Beth

He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much.~ Bessie Anderson Stanley. Such a memorial tribute! Mr. Wagner has indeed achieved the highest success and I'm sure he leaves a legacy of cherished memories for his loved ones. My prayers are with you.

I'm sure you'll miss your dear Dad - I think of mine every day - but had to tell you that I love his obituary - rest in peace, Mr Wagner Carolyn (Toronto,Ontario)

Hi Dad, yes, Dad.. The DNA result are in and yes, you are my Father. I'm one of the hidden Wagner's. I also talked to the Doctor that delivered me. Yep, he's still alive and still practicing medicine, although sometimes he gets confused as to which medicine to give his patients.. He said you were one of a kind. I wish so much I could have met you.. Mom says you were one of a kind.. I hope that you won't be hard to find in Heaven.. Love you.. Jimmy Boy

I didn't know Mr. Wagner but my heavens, I sure wish I did :-)

While I did not personally know your father--grand father.I saw his obituary, what a funny-- great man. Living with him sounds like it was fun. I could tell he loved his family with all his heart. I am sorry for your loss.

I didn't know this dear man but I sure wish I had. I have been grinning all day.

I used to wait on Dick when he came into the Johnson Avenue Hy-Vee for breakfast. Am sorry to hear of his passing. Sounds like he lived a long and adventurous life. May the memories you have of him, help bring a smile to your face during this difficult time of adjustment.

What an extraordinary tribute to someone who was surely an extraordinary man! We did not have the privilege of knowing Richard in this lifetime, but we feel as if we did, having read this beautiful remembrance, and we are lifting his family in our prayers. It is not clear whether Richard was ever able to reconnect with his birthfamily or not, but if his children wish to do so, we would be happy to assist in any way we can. May he rest In peace, having surely reunited in Heaven with his loved ones there, and may his family know his life truly made a difference here in earth, even to those who never knew him.

Dear Robin Sympathies on the lose of your dad. May God hold you especially tight during this most difficult time.

So sorry for your loss. My mom went to Pulaski High. The days will be sad and lonely but always remember your parents are with you. Perhaps in a song or a flower or a favorite place but they are there watching and waiting. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

What an amazing life was led by such an ordinary man. I am sure he will be missed. By the life story, I am sure the whole family will come together for food and a few brews after the services, have a deviled egg for me in remembrance of an old duffer who's telling his amazing stories upstairs. God bless.

Robin, Renee and family. Please know you are each in my thoughts and prayers. Your dad/grandpa is in heaven singing and playing hand bells with your mom/grandma now. (I enjoyed the obit.)

Dear Robin, I have so many fond memories of your dad and your family at Trinity. I know I told you this before, but whenever I think of him I see him wearing a black and white referee shirt. God bless him. Please know that he is in a much happier place. May the peace of God be with you and Renee during this difficult time. Love, Yvonne

Robin, we know how close the family was to your dad and how hard those last days were but now he is in the hands of God. We miss him at St. Lukes. He helped a lot of people.

Dear Robin and family. I'm so very sorry for the loss of your father. I remember meeting Dick and Ruth at New Life Fitness. They were such faithful members, plus they would walk Mishka before going to the gym. Dick loved cookies and I would bake him some when I would pick up Ruth for coffee. I really enjoyed his newsy Christmas card every year. He will be missed.

Robin and family, please accept our sympathy on the loss of your Father and Grandfather. The only Richard I knew was this wonderful elderly gentleman who I heard read scripture on Saturday evenings when we first joined First Lutheran Church. He reminded me of pastors I had remembered in my youth in NE Iowa. I had hoped he could continue reading scripture even when he was not able to physically manage the other roles of the Lectern during a service. God bless Richard's family at this time. Cathy and Loren

Cyndel , Jon and I send all our love. This obit was truly him!
