Mrs. Jessie M. Hillsman, 89, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, May 2, 2015 surrounded by her family at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
Services at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015 with visitation from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion M.B. Church, 6621 C Ave NE, Cedar Rapids. Rev. Dr. Damian M. Epps officiating pastor. Interment at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Jessie was born October 7, 1925 to Eather and Mattie (Clark) Hunt in McLemoresville, Tennessee. She was united in marriage to Lincoln Hillsman on December 20, 1941 in Caruthersville, Missouri. From this union, four children were born.
Survivors: one son, Marvin (Peggy) Hillsman of Cedar Rapids, two daughters: Darlene Crawford of Cedar Rapids, and Juanita Hillsman of Round Lake, Illinois; one sister: Gurtrude Luter of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter Madeline Downs; and two siblings.
