Everett and family, thinking of you during this time. I have such fond memories of both your parents who I met when they volunteered at St Luke's. They were such a neat couple to watch over the years and now they are together again. Their memory will live on with the friends they made all those years.

Dear Family Members,
Please accept my condolences on your loss of Eugene. He and his wife Edna were both wonderful volunteers at St. Luke's for many years and helped to shape us into one of the best hospitals in the country. Their dedication to our patients, particularly the smallest and most vulnerable among us, was something of which you can all be very proud. They are missed.

I'm so sorry to read about your father's death. He was a great man and your mother a great lady as well. I remember many good times your mother and Grandmother had playing cards with my Grandmother and Aunts at our home and sometimes at one of the other ladies' home. They always were laughing about something while playing cards. Everett, you meant so much to both of them and I know you and your family will miss and do miss both of them, my condolences go out to all of you. Take care, your in my thoughts and prayers. I'm so glad you were able to have your father closer to you and your family after your lost your mother, Edna.

Eugene was a devoted volunteer to St. Luke's Hospital for several decades. He made friends with the people in the departments he served. Areas that received his huge gift of kindness included our Library, Print Shop, Audio Visual, Bio-Med, Special Projects and Baby Caps. He donated 16, 675 hours of his time and talents. A gift without measure. He retired from the walls of St. Luke's in 2010, but even from Reno he continued to make his impact. It was always a fun day in Volunteer Services when a box of baby cap pom-poms arrived in the mail. Just last week we received a box. Every other week I have bragged to our New Hires that he is our oldest, ACTIVE, volunteer. His story makes everyone smile. We have and will miss him.
To his family - our thoughts and prayers are with you.

My thoughts and prayers for you and your family as you reflect on your Dad's life. I knew both of your parents, I too worked at St Luke's for 15 years and your folks were volunteering at that time. I worked in the Business office where your Mother volunteered. Precious people and they talked about you and their grandchildren. I have been retired from St Luke's for 15 years but when I would be at the hospital they would be in the cafeteria. Always a good visit.

Everett, so sorry to hear about dad. I recently retired from St. Lukes hospital where I met both of your parents as volunteers. When they were well enough and sometimes when they weren't, I would see them everyday. Your mom and I worked in the same department for several years and when I moved on I would still stop and see her or I would see them eating in the cafeteria and visit. They were truly devoted volunteers and I must say they became true friends to me. From reading the obituary this morning, it sounds like they have left behind a wonderful family to share their memories. My prayers to all of you. Jo Beth Wiese

Everett and family, I am sorry for your loss. I knew Gene and Edna from Sharon UMC. They were good friends of my parents and we all played cards together for several years. My dad, Gene and I had even taken a couple bus trips to Chicago to watch a Cubs game. Gene was a really nice guy.
