I remember Pete when I was a teenager because he rented a small studio apartment from my widowed aunt, Helen Latimer, who lived at 2560 Country Club Parkway in Cedar Rapids (the ranch home at the corner of Country Club and Fairway Terrace.) My deceased uncle, "Lat" Latimer, was an architect and designed and built the home shortly before his death in October of 1951, and he especially prized his studio which was above the garage, and he named it the "Owl's Nest" because his initials were O.W.L. I remember Pete very well and my aunt thought he was a wonderful young man and felt privileged to have him, although for only a short time, as her friend and renter.

Bev, Jim and Janet, Today our hearts are especially heavy. However, all of the childhood memories that we have shared over the years will take us back to those happier times. Mourning the loss, celebrating the memories with sympathy and prayer. Carl and Kathy (Marcus) Zemanek

Janet and family, Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. I am sorry to say that I did not know your dad (Janet) but I was touched when I read his memorial and I feel like I know him as you are an extension of him. What a blessing to have a dad that was such a huge part of your life and a huge part of who you are. Saying goodbye is never easy, you and yours are in my prayers. Love to you all.
