Gustava Wilhelmina Larson, age 98, of Marion, Iowa, died Friday, August 28, 2015 at Winslow House.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories officiated by Rev. David Renfro.  A visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.  Entombment will take place at the Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Gustava was born December 23, 1916 in Farmersburg, Iowa to John and Lucille (Radloff) Hagensick.  She was united in marriage to Glenn Larson on December 1, 1936 in Farmersburg.

She assisted her husband, operating Glenn J. Larson Construction Company, Inc., and she served as the secretary treasurer for the company.  After she and Glenn retired, they enjoyed traveling to all fifty United States, each province in Canada, Europe, and yearly visits to their condo in Pompano Beach, Florida.

Gustava was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she previously participated in the altar sewing circle and home missionary.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughter Janice Johnston of Springville; grandson John (Kim) Johnston of Cedar Rapids; great-grandson Cole Johnston of Cedar Rapids; sister Delpha Mae Larson of Marion; several nieces and nephews; as well as dear friend of the family, Ron Wegner.

Gustava was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glenn, son-in-law John Johnston, Sr., as well as two sisters: Miranda Kalke and Marie Seeland.

A memorial fund in Gustava’s name has been established to Winslow House or to Trinity Lutheran Church.
