June Ernst, 81 , of Center Point, died at Grandview Healthcare, Oelwein on Thursday, May 9, 2013. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where friends may call one hour prior to service. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.Survivors include her husband, Allen; children, Vecca Ernst of Farmington and Eric (Denise) Ernst of Coon Rapids; two brothers, Arvene Kinney of Lincoln, NE and Ernie Kinney of San Antonio, TX; and five grandchildren, Matt, Alex, Tyler, Stacey, and Sarah. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, David, and three brothers, Jimmy, George, and Lyle Kinney.June was born May 11, 1931 in Bayard, NE to Jeff and Iva Kinney. She married Allen Ernst while in the Air Force on July 7, 1951. June was employed at Nash Finch for over 23 years, retiring in 1993. June was the first female school bus driver for the Cedar Rapids School district. June loved her flower garden and was never without a pet dog.Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Humane Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
