Emma Krob Castle, 95, of Jefferson City, Missouri, formerly of Marion died Saturday October 9, 2010 in New York City after a long illness following a stroke. Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM on Thursday at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Rev. David Beckman will officiate. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday where there will be a vigil service at 6:30 PM.
Survivors include her son, John K. Castle and his wife, Marianne of Palm Beach, Florida and New York City; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a son-in-Law, Dr. Lyle Hedges of Jefferson City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Maryanne Castle Hedges, and two sisters, Henrietta Schlueter and Helen Nalley.
Mrs. Castle was born on March 9, 1915 in Solon, Iowa the daughter of Joseph and Anna Brock Krob. She was a very gifted pianist who enjoyed playing for her family and friends. Mrs. Castle was a devoted Catholic all of her life and carried that devotion to the love and care given to her family. She will be truly missed.
