I first met Anneliese 57 years ago. She welcomed me to Franklin and became my friend even through the episode when two snakes escaped from my classroom and invaded her German class during a final exam!
Despite health issues during the last 18 months, she was determined to finish her second book to share her powerful story of determination and perseverance. And she made it!
My condolences to her family, of which she was so proud, especially her grandchildren. I feel so blessed that she shared so many years with me.
