Bradley “Brad” Stephen De La Mater passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Services and interment were held privately.
He was born on November 8, 1983, in Cedar Rapids to Michael and Maria (Tobar) De La Mater. He graduated from Washington High School in 2002 and then attended the University of Iowa obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in 2007. Brad worked in the Data Center as a Data Server Specialist in Informational Technology for Rockwell-Collins (Kyndryl) in Cedar Rapids for twenty years.
Brad loved all his pets in life, especially his dogs, Buddy and Braxton. He enjoyed bicycling with his father and brother. He took great joy in adding “new” and “wonderful” projects to his mother’s garden. Brad loved to banter with his brother Chris and cherished the happiness of his niece and nephew, often showering them with the most unique and fun gifts he could find. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye football fan and enjoyed wagering on all types of sporting events with his family. Brad maintained friendships with college friends over the years. He was especially close to “Kristin” and “Brittany”.
He is survived by his parents, Michael and Maria (Tobar) De La Mater; his brother Christopher (Raquel) De La Mater; and his niece, Emmie and nephew, Ben; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Brad is preceded in death by his grandparents Charles and Louise Osterby, Darold De La Mater, and Luis G. and Felicia Tobar.
He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him. He was a beloved son, brother and uncle.
