Denise Ann Tvedt was born to Roger Lansing and Dianne (Brennan) Lansing on December 6th, 1960, in Evanston, IL. She graduated from Carmel High School in Mundelein, IL, In 1979. She worked as a purchasing director at Decorel Corp. in Mundelein when she met Brian Tvedt whom she married on June 29, 1996, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Libertyville, IL. They resided in Coon Rapids, MN from 1996 to 1998, where she gave birth to her first-born son, Adam. After moving to Iowa, she gave birth to Meghan, Matthew, and Samuel. She devoted the rest of her life to the care and well-being of her family.
Early on in her children’s lives she served a term as President of the School Board at All Saints Catholic School in Cedar Rapids, and provided food for funerals, as well. She was always blessed with an ability to bake and cook, and she used those talents often to feed her family. She often made meals that she could not or did not want to eat, but she did it because she knew her family loved her food, and she loved them. She had just started teaching Matthew to cook after he had moved back home from school.
Her family brought the most joy to her life. She and her husband enjoyed attending their children’s athletic and musical activities. She loved to share how beautiful Meghan’s voice was, and always enjoyed attending her kids’ sporting events, whether they were playing or coaching. She was always excited for summer nights in Anamosa where she got to watch Adam coach baseball and fall nights in Marion where Sam coaches football. Family time was very important to her. Whether it was athletic or musical activities, playing darts, a variety of games, or just being together, all she wanted to do was be around her family. The family dog made her so happy too. He followed her everywhere she went. She loved taking him for walks at the park with her children as much as possible. Our holidays were special because she made them that way, the joy of the holiday season came from her. She was always there for us and the greatest comfort we could have. She is irreplaceable. She was the heart of our home, a bright light and had the most beautiful smile.
Her family in Illinois held a special place in her heart, as well. She enjoyed calling her family and looking out for them from afar. In the final years of her life, it is safe to say that Denise missed her mom and dad greatly.
Her faith was strong, and she prayed the rosary frequently. She loved Jesus deeply and we rest assured trusting that she is with Him now.
Denise Tvedt is survived by her husband, Brian; Her four children, Adam, Meghan, Matthew, and Samuel. She is also survived by her sisters Debra Perez, Dawn D’Agostino, and Deedra Chmiel, and many nieces and nephews.
Denise Tvedt was preceded in death by her parents Roger and Dianne.
