Ted & family-so sorry to hear about Barb's passing. So glad you were blessed with the years together. Remember the smiles & treasure the memories & share those memories.

To all the Steele family. We are holding loving space for all of you through the loss of an amazing woman to you and to this world. It was such a blessing to have had her in our lives, and the whole Steele family she helped create.

May your LIGHT shine forever. Love and healing to you Barb on your new journey, and peace to your family! Peggy Ernster (formerly Andrews; mom to Aaron and Nathan Andrews)

Ted and Sons, I knew you and Barb back in the day when the boys were born at Mercy. I do believe your were our 'paper people" on Maplecrest and Ted, you were one of son, Jeff's, influential teachers in middle school. Deepest sympathy to you all. May she rest in Peace! Bonnie Thomas

My family's thoughts go out to Kyle and the whole Steele family during this time. Barb was a very special person.

As an Angel on Earth already, now she has her wings again. Someone so special and to have touched so many lives. I know your hearts will smile again in the days to come, stories, memories and special moments will flood your hearts. Thank You again Mrs. Steele for making the world a better place.

Ted and family…I was sorry to hear of Barb’s passing. May you find peace as you grieve and take care of yourself as you heal from this deep sadness. Cherish all of your special memories. RIP Barb. Take care.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I loved having "Mrs. Steele" in 8th grade science. Her class was the best and she was one of my all-time favorite teachers! She made me laugh so hard and had the best sense of humor!! Such a fun contagious laugh and great personality! To Mr. Steele and family, you're in my thoughts and prayers.

Ted, I'm so sorry to hear about Barb's passing. She was such a lovely person who I always enjoyed talking with. May all your many memories of life together with her console you and your family in the days ahead.

Ted and Family: Barb was my most influential and favorite teacher. She is one of the main reasons I became a math teacher and a principal. Her smile was infectious and made such a big difference in my life. I tried to find her through the years to tell her in person, and I'm sorry that didn't happen. I'm just happy I could tell her family. Prayers to all of you!

I am sorry to hear of Mrs. (Barb) Steel's passing. She was my 5th grade teacher. I remember her beautiful long hair and nails. I loved her smile!!! She was an AWESOME teacher! My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Love Barb's always present smile and her support for her Akers extended family. She was a person who uplifted others. A blessing to all who knew her. Condolences from Bob and Dianne Akers Graham speaking for the Ralph and Alice Akers family. Rest well cousin. Peace.

Ted and Family, so very sorry to hear of Barb's passing. Prayers to all of you, and hoping your many fond memories will help ease your grief some.

Ted and Al and Steve and families. We were such good neighbors growing up. Ray and I talked of you often. Barb will be missed. Part of the old neighborhood is moving on. We lost Craig last year. Sending prayers and sympathy for you all. Ray and Judy.

Ted and family: I am so sorry for your loss. Barb was a wonderful teacher and person with a big heart...which always showed by the way she dealt with people. Kyle, Ted & family, we are deeply sorry for the loss of your Mom & wife. She raised a wonderful family whose legacy will endure. Prayers to all of you in this time of deep sorrow. There surely is a casino in heaven waiting for her.

We were so sorry to hear of Barb’s passing, Ted. What a classy lady!!! A wonderful, caring teacher with an infectious sense of humor, she brightened every room she entered. She raised two strong, talented, and hard working sons, and even managed to keep you in line!!! What an absolute treasure!!! Terri and I won’t be able to attend her services as we won’t be back in Iowa until the end of March, but know we’re having good thoughts for you and the Steele family. Take care, Ted. Marc
