Dominic Vena Roberts was taken to glory on July 23rd after a courageous battle against multiple cancers and liver failure brought on by those treatments.

Born on February 19, 1970, and raised in Kettering, Ohio (a suburb of Dayton) and a lifelong Buckeye fan, his life journey took him through Central Michigan University where he earned his MBA in Business Administration and eventually settled in Cedar Rapids working for the city and most recently Linn County.

Nic is deeply loved and missed by his wife Julie, step-son Brandon (Shelby), parents Michael (Sheila) and Becky (Dave), brothers Joseph (Liz), Steven (Kimmy), and Antonio (Clara), sister Isabella, faithful friend Winston, and much extended family, especially in Ohio and Florida.  He also leaves behind many friends who mean so much to him, with an extra special place in his heart for those who let him teach them how to play Euchre - his favorite thanks to passion instilled by Aunt Sissy and Uncle Ed.

Nic was a willing participant in multiple clinical trials in hopes of advancing successful treatment in the fight against metastatic cancers.  Cancer found in him a fierce competitor and although he may have lost this final battle, he won the war as his strong and unwavering faith took him home.
