I coached basketball versus Steve for many years, Steve at Prairie and me at Roosevelt. Steve's teams were always well coached. The thing I will always remember about Steve is how kind and friendly he was. He never let the competition diminish his kindness. One of the nicest guys I have ever met in this Lifetime. Prayers Up for Steve and his Family. Please take comfort in knowing that Steve awaits you in Heaven. Eric Oliver

My sympathy to the whole family. It was always good to see the Yuzas as our daughters went through school together K-12.

My deepest sympathy to the Yuza family. I grew up across the street from the Yuza’s on 19th Street and have fond memories of Steve ( although being a few years younger I’m sure I was a little pest, he always put up with me ! )

Linda, I lived on the corner of Southview and Elaine for many years and still remember meeting Steve. I had found a robin’s nest in a bush with a big dead bird in it. Unable to bring myself to touch it, I spied Steve and asked if he could do such a thing. I couldn’t have asked a better person than a biology teacher! He removed the bird and gave me a quick lesson on how cowbirds use the nests of other species. I enjoyed that conversation and all our others. What a kind man and a blessing to his students and neighbors.

Sorry & sympathy & prayers for the entire Yuza family. Steve taught Mark & Michael Kleppe & what a wonderful & kind person. He will be missed by many Prairie families.

Sorry for you loss. My memories will be the last conversation at Austins Graduation talking about baseball and such

Madison and Family~ Your Grandpa's kind and gentle spirit will always be a joyful memory for you. Wishing you much love and comfort at this time.

Linda/Chad-- Sorry to hear about this. I have great memories from having Steve as a teacher and 8th grade basketball coach. And I know my mom/Don spent a good deal of time playing cards, etc, with Linda and Steve. Thoughts are with you! Justin Hupfer

Linda, so sorry for your loss Thoughts and prayers for your family May memories bring you comfort Marti Sparrow

Steve! I know you are in heaven resting in peace! It was my pleasure to have known you for forty two years being best friends with your daughter, Kelly. God Bless you!

Rest in peace, Steve. Memories of working with Steve at Prairie are all good ones. He was one of the good guys. My condolences to Linda and family.

Was a student of his , had many great full memories of him still to this day. Was in his class when we heard about 9/11. To this day I still think about some of the things he said during those first couple of hours. Never once do I recall him being angry just an all around cheerful guy and a love for teaching and sharing stories.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had Mr. Yuza in school at Prairie. He was an amazing teacher! I worked with his son in law Dean at Nordstrom. My thoughts and prayers to the family and all who loved him!

So sorry to hear about Steve’s passing. Steve taught with my dad at Prairie. My thoughts are with your family at this difficult time

Dear Steve Rest In Peace. My mother and his mother were best friends. We were almost like cousins. I haven't seen him in years but I have thought of him often. God Bless.

Oh, my, was just thinking about Steve. So sad to hear this news. Spent many good years with Steve. Lots of car pool miles. Ila and I send our thoughts to the family wish we were close enough to be there for the funeral.
