Paul Clarence Stadtmueller, 87, of Marion, Iowa, passed away Sunday, January 29th, 2023, at his home following an extended illness. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Wednesday, February 1st at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.  Funeral service at 10:30 AM on Thursday, February 2nd at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church: 915 27th St, Marion, IA 52302.  Burial will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Paul was born July 12th, 1935, in Monticello, Iowa to Clarence and Ruby (Rickels) Stadtmueller. He graduated in 1953, from Monticello High School. On February 20th, 1955, he was united in marriage to Lorna Plueger in Monticello, Iowa. During their marriage they had four sons. Paul spent his career at Rockwell Collins, working as the maintenance supervisor.  After 38 and a half years he retired and owned his own repair business.

Paul enjoyed woodworking, cracking walnuts, playing cards, attending the Hawkeye Downs races, and spending time with his family.  He was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Lorna; four sons, Michael (Leah) Stadtmueller of Mesa, AZ; Mark Stadtmueller of Fairfax, IA; David (Karen) Stadtmueller of Marion, IA; and Dennis (Marimer)  Stadtmueller of Marion, IA; three grandchildren, Stefanie (Kole) Schug, Samantha (Joey) Dighton, and Alex (Chandra) Stadtmueller; four great-grandchildren, Blakely, Brennen, Calvin, and Klaire; two sisters, Sue Isaac, and Shirley (Dennis) Brennan; a brother, Russell (Sheryl) Stadtmueller; and many loving extended family members and friends. 

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Mick.
