My mother was a neighbor of Elaine, her parents, and siblings when growing up near Montezuma. Elaine was librarian at Prairie View when our kids were students. We made the connection when my mom happened to attend a school event. Wow, what a coincidence.

Mrs. Willis made an impression!! I remember her reading to us in the library, and I’ll never forget “The Thing At The Foot of The Bed”!!

Deb, Kevin, Natalie, and Anna (as well as all the other family), I was so sorry to hear about Elaine. While I never met her in person, I have enjoyed your stories and can tell she was a great woman and shared lots of love to those around her. Prayers to you all.

Dan, Debbie, Diana, Sorry to read about your mom's passing. She is in Heaven free of all worldly "stuff". Our family knew her from her years at Prairie. She was a wonderful person who always thought of others. She was a friend of my wife, Joyce. I'm sure they have greeted one another in Heaven. Her memory is with our family. The three of you can carry on her good works and are blessed to have her as your mother.

Debbie, I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. I know you and her were very close. I don't know if you remember me but we use to be your neighbors at Gateway Gardens. Long ago I know . I (we) had two sons Brian and Joel Ondler and I do believe you babysat for them once or twice. You and your mom were great Neighbors! You both we're so nice! Hoping that peace and love and good memories fill your heart at this time! Jeannie

Deb and family, I’m sorry to hear the passing of your mom. You and your mom were so helpful when I got my job at Amana in the Consumer Affairs Department and looking for a place to live. You and your mom continued to look after me for many years later. I’m grateful for the friendship.

I was so sorry to hear about Elaine's death. She was a really neat woman with all of her accomplishments and her drive and her fight to keep going. I was listening to a really neat Christian song today about heaven and we know that Elaine is there. It is hard to lose your mother. I'm gonna miss her too.

Debbie and family, sorry for the loss of your Mom. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Luella's sister.
