Eric & Family - I was saddened to read of your mother's passing. She was a special lady who did so much to help so many people! She will definitely be missed. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Our most sincere condolences to Mike, Joyce & the entire Wilson family on the passing of dear Esther. She was such a wonderful person-always willing to help someone better themselves, especially women, in and around Cedar Rapids. I have enjoyed some very special times with Joyce & Esther; and I’ve saved ALL of her witty emails from the past several years - they will bring a smile each time I re-read them & remember a lovely, strong woman, committed to her family & the Cedar Rapids community. A life well lived!

Joyce, Jim and family. I remember your mom so well, Joyce. From trying to help me sew a jumper so I would pass my "home ec" class, to all of the times she watched us play tetherball. Laughing as I tried to play your bassoon! What a great lady she was. She had so many talents and a wonderful sense of humor with that little smile. My heart goes out to your dad and all of you kids. I think one of the hardest things in life is to lose your mom. The keeper of your history as a child. Thinking of you?.

To Mike and the Wilson family. My condolences to you all on Esther's passing. She was one of the nicest people I have ever had the opportunity to meet. Across many spectrums of life, she had an impact that has been felt, and will be sorely missed.

To Frank and the Wilson family, please accept my condolences on Esther's passing. She certainly earned her wings with a life well lived. Her legacy will have a lasting impact on Cedar Rapids and all she touched.

I am sorry to hear of Esther’s passing. I enjoyed reading her obituary. She was involved with so many wonderful organizations in our community. I know you had a wonderful marriage of 72 years. You two always looked happy together. I hope you find peace in all those memories in the coming weeks.

Please accept my condolences on Esther's passing. She was a strong, but kind woman who always was gracious every time we spoke. I appreciated her fondness for nature and vividly recall multiple conversations she had with me about composting kitchen scraps. I enjoyed her very much and hope that her family is able to find peace in nature at this time.

Eric - saddened to learn of your mom’s passing. Churchill said, “You make a living off of what you get. You make a life off of what you give.” Your mom lived a life most of us can only aspire to.

To the Wilson family: Please accept my condolences on your loss. It is never easy losing someone you love. Hold on to those memories, continue to hear her voice and don’t ever stop talking to her. She is with you always. I hope that comfort and peace come to you. I know that she will truly be missed. She was a great mother and wife and loved by all. The Cedar Rapids community lost a true icon. Prayers for your hearts to heal. You are in my prayers and thoughts. May God bless all of you. Jim Voss

So sorry to read about your Mom's passing. What a beautiful person who led such a fulfilling life.

Eric, I’m so sorry to hear about your Mom. She lived an eventful and fulfilling life. My sympathies. And her honorable mention cheapskate award was a fun inclusion in addition to all of her accomplishments.
