To the Skoog family. I'm sorry I'm just now sharing this, I don't get the paper and very rarely check obituaries. This came as quite a shock for me. I'm sorry on the passing of Roberta. She was a great lady. We met at the Collins rd Hyvee. She would shop Wednesday mornings and as a bagger, I'd often help take her groceries out for her. We would talk and visit. Sometimes I'd miss helping her on Wednesday mornings. So once I got her address, I'd come by and apologize and then visit after work. She loved showing off her Cubs merch. Something we had in common. She gave great hugs and was a great listener. I gave her a replica of the 2016 World Series ring and a poem of the Cubs (to my knowledge she kept the ring but gave back the poem). Due to her and Glenns health she said our visits had to stop. I think that was back in 2018. I've missed her since then but her bubbly personality has kept her going this long. It's a shame I'll never get to see her again. <3

I am so sorry to hear about Roberta’s passing. I moved in across the street from Roberta & Glenn 20 years ago. Roberta was always so welcoming to me. I could hear her and Glenn cheering on the Cubs from across the street. I got to share a bottle of red wine with her before she moved to Arizona. We also shared a Sunday brunch in “her booth” at Granite City, adorned with Cubs memorabilia of course. She loved her martinis as well. She will be greatly missed and thought of often.

I'm so very sad to hear of the loss of dear Roberta. Berta as I remember her was so fun and genuine. What an amazing presence she had, so fun, happy, and full of life. She will definitely be missed by so many. Too much loss for us all lately. I wish there was something I could write or say to make things easier. My heart goes out to and I'm sending love to all the family and friends who loved her.

We're still trying to process what a world without Bert will be like. She was a shining light, and her Facebook posts always showed a woman full of fun, & love for her family. RIP Bert. If there is a heaven, you are surely there, reunited with Glenn & toasting with a glass of wine.

I was just recently thinking of this family. The Jeffries. Roberta’s sister and I were best friends. And their parents would take care of me before and after school. I am so sorry for your loss….. Airen, if you see this please reach out. I have been reminiscing……we truly had the best times together.

I was so sorry to see Roberta's obituary in the paper. I knew her through a late common friend, Barb Franklin. Roberta was such a cheerful person, I really enjoyed corresponding with her. My sympathies to all.

Skoog family, my sympathies to you. She was such a sweet lady and I'll miss her hugs!!

The entire Skoog family have always been great people. I was fortunate to have gone through school with them at St. Pius grade school and Regis High School. May your Mother rest in peace.

My Dearest Skoog Family, It is with a broken heart that I send my condolences to each and everyone of you. I moved to Cedar Rapids 40 years ago not knowing anyone except Roy. I met Marilinne in 1983 and the rest is history! Bert took me under her wing and yes...welcomed me into the family! She always made me feel special and at home in her house, in the community or anywhere we went! I can't begin to express how sad I am at the loss of this amazing woman!! I am thinking of each of you and sharing in your sorrow. I love you guys and am here if there's anything you need.
