My condolences to Beverly's family. I had the honor to work with her and learn from her at IWD. What a teacher - thorough, professional, joyful, welcoming, patient, kind. She was a class act in the best sense of the word. She knew her family and spiritual values and modeled without talking about them. God bless her, and receive her in to heaven with gentleness and a smile.

Dionne and I just found out about Beverly's passing to be with our Lord. We're so sorry but know that she's in a wonderful place with your Dad, She was my greatest supporter at Washington, doing everything she could to see that our program had what we needed. Your family was always and example of how we wanted our family to be like. We will miss her greatly and she leaves behind a lasting legacy for us, Washington High School, and the city of Cedar Rapids.

I love this picture of Beverly because she always greeted people with this smile. I knew her from work and she was always patient and so wise. My thoughts are with her family and friends - she was truly a good, caring person.

Beverly was like a 2nd mother to all the kids on the block of 7th & 8th Ave SE. I grew up with her beautiful children, Jami, Brian, and Douglas during the 60s and 70s. I remember going to their home dozens of times and Beverly was always there with a smile and a snack (we were growing children)! I will always remember her timeless smile. She had the most beautiful smile that welcomed you into her home. She is a child of the most high God and I take great comfort in knowing her final resting place. She is reunited with family and her amazing husband James of which I miss as well. Rest in peace Beverly as you are truly a precious gift from God!

I was saddened to hear of Beverly's passing. As one of her knit/crochet group friends, I will always remember looking forward to the highly intellectual conversations she brought to the group. She made beautiful knit items from difficult patterns and made it look easy. I will miss her easygoing manner and Geoffrey coming to collect her until bringing her to our next meeting. May God bless you all as you travel through this difficult time. See ya in heaven Beverly, to converse while we knit/crochet.

Beverly was more than just a co-worker at IWD, she was like a mother to me. She was always patient, gentle and caring. Her personality and presence were felt anywhere she was. I'm sure going to miss her.

Our Lord has a special spa room for this woman! She did it all! Our families grew up together on the same block, and Mrs. Burrell was like a second mom to so many. She was so kind-hearted to anyone who had the pleasure of being in her company, and she helped anyone who needed it. Wonderful woman! Eternal rest grant unto Beverly, O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her.
