Decades after I had Mrs. Lebsock as a teacher at McKinley, it was a treat to run across her at the Indian Creek Nature Center, where I've worked since 2000. Old habits die hard, and it was awkward for me to think of her as "Barb," but she was friendly and happy to have a chance meeting with one of her former students. We had lovely chats from time to time, and all of us at the Nature Center valued her as a member for about a decade. I will remember Mrs. Lebsock/Barb as both a fun, well-organized teacher and as a supporter of a Cedar Rapids nonprofit that is near and dear to my heart. My condolences to your family.

I have know Barb for several years. She belonged to a book club that I attended. She was a very nice woman and I enjoyed her involvement with our book club. I am sorry for your loss. She will be missed. Prayers for your family.

I was so sorry to hear about Barb. I had the pleasure of teaching with her at McKinley then Franklin. Barb was a lovely woman, great educator, and a wonderful colleague. She will be missed! Please know you are in my prayers . Ann (Gordon) Bader

Barb was a friend and fellow reader. We shared books along with memories of growing up and going to college in the midwest. I'll remember her sense of humor and ability to see the positive side of most situations.

Barb and I were located next to each other at McKinley JHS. We'd meet in the hall multiple times a day; teachers did hall duty during the students' passing periods between classes. She was a delight, and had such a dry sense of humor. I remember her so well, and with great fondness.

I taught language arts with Barb for many years at McKinley. I remember her as such a hard working teacher, always carrying stacks of graded essays ready to be handed back to her students. Her quiet manner and easy smile was the type of role modeling I needed. Peace be with you, Barb. Jean Oberbroeckling

So very sorry to learn of this. I knew Barb thru Ellen. She was a kind and gentle soul.
