Ruby,
I am positive I can never fill the void left in the hearts of our family. But I will do everything in my power to try to fill it. You were your daughter’s best friend, mother, and champion. You were the calm, patient, proud, mediator, no matter how much your daughter was mad at me. You were always there for your grandchildren, who love and miss you very much. The strength and courage you demonstrated over the last decade was second to none. You fought the odds like no one I have ever met and never will again. As your daughter said, you did not loose your fight, you overcame the odds. I can not express what you meant to all of us and the impact you had on your daughter and your grandchildren. You are loved and missed dearly, but in these times of pain, we also remember all the wonderful memories. We will cherish these forever. I didn't know your mother but her obituary brought tears to my eyes. She had to be a wonderful mother to inspire such a loving memorial to her. I pray that my children feel that much love for me.

So sorry to hear this. I remember when I first started at Kmart (1978) it was my first job and I was scared to death she showed me around and eased my fears. We both ended up making a career at the Big K so many memories!! My deepest sympathy to you and your family.

You have my deepest sympathy at the loss of your mother. I went to school with Ruby and reading your beautiful memorial to your mom brought back memories of a swee,t smiling and laughing Ruby. She was beautiful. As often happens after high school I did not see her for many many years. She really was like another grandmother to us. We always loved to go upstairs and talk with her. One thing she gave me was a Charm that said “Always and Forever” off of my favorite show ‘The Originals’ it was the best gift I’ve ever received and it’s always with me. May she Rest In Peace.
