Ruby Elizabeth Carlyle, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Sunday July 25, 2021, after a long battle with Cancer. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
It would be wrong to say that Ruby lost her battle, she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she fought to be here with her family. She always said that her three greatest treasures in life were being a mom, a grandmother and a mother-in-law. Through her we were taught what unconditional love, family, fighting spirit, forgiveness, graciousness, resilience, perseverance and being truly selfless look like. She had the most infectious laugh; it would echo through the whole house and bring the biggest smile to your face. No matter what she was going through, we were always put first. Her joy for life, her love for her family and indomitable spirit kept her pushing through the pain. She will be truly missed but we know she is still with us every day. There are no words to describe how honored we were to have her in our lives. We love you always and forever mom. Ruby is survived by her Daughter Mindy Moon Son-in-Law Joe Moon and her two Grandchildren Riley Moon and Payton Moon.

I wish so much you wouldn’t cry, the way you did today, while thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say.
I know how much you love me, as much as I love you, and each time you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too.
When tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, for every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart.
