Ardele was Zone president when I was the treasurer many years ago and I was new to the 'job'. She was an outstanding mentor and taught me everything I didn't already know about LWML--Lutheran Women's Missionary League. A true friend, we would seek each other out at any rallies or convention. Because I live in Iowa City, we didn't see each other as often as I would have liked, but we made up for it when we did meet. May the Lord fill the void in your lives with His comfort and love.

Roger and Rodney, your mother was my first -- and best -- piano teacher. I think I was her first piano student. She would come to our house to give me lessons at first, and then eventually, I would come to your house every week to offer my efforts at learning to play. She taught me for 9 years. She was so patient and kind, and she never fussed over whether I had practiced very much or not. I still have books and books of music with her notes on the pieces. When I was in 8th grade, she taught me how to play the organ (without shoes!), and Chief of Sinners was one of the first songs she taught me to play on the Zion organ. Every time we sing it in church, my memories of her sitting beside me explaining how to play it accompany the song. Thus began my career as a church organist. Your mom impacted my life in so many beautiful ways. The gift of helping someone to learn how to play music is a tremendous gift. I think of her almost every day I play. My heartfelt sympathies go out to you and your families. She was a great lady.

I think of your parents often - remembering when we bought your family home on Old Marion Rd. It's been a great house for us & still is. I remember your Mother with love & I'm thinking of you & your families with love, sympathy, & prayers. May God hold you close.

Was sad to read about your mother. Ardele was a very good friend. We did so many things together. One such time was when she, Lorraine Minney and I went to Grimes, IA for a weekend together. We went to attend a mutual friend's 80th birthday. We were going to stay in two rooms. Decided we wanted to be together. We had a cot brought in so we could do that. We talked and laughed well into the morning hours. Was much like a slumber party. What a fun weekend!

I am very sad to write this. Ardele was a very special Aunt. My earliest memories are of visiting her at school in fairmont and in St. Paul. JJ and I have many happy memories of our family reunions. I will miss the hours long phone conversations we had. So Sorry!

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I was so sad to hear of your mother's passing. She was a very sweet person.

I am very saddened by my Christen friend and Zion member Ardele. She and Erv are great friends that were members of our club, took many trips together, raised our children as young parents ,and enjoyed many special events. Ardele was a great artist, organist, and very special to Joan and I. My sincere sympathy to Roger, Rodney and their families but know that she is with Jesus and Erv in heaven. Gods comfort and peace , Jim Biederman
