Ardele H. Menken, 92 a resident of The Views in Marion went to her eternal joy on Wednesday January 13, 2021. Funeral services at 11:00 AM on Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha. Rev. Daniel Krueger will officiate. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a visitation on Monday at the Church from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM. As mandated by proclamation, social distancing must be practiced which requires a limited number of people to be allowed into the visitation at one time. The use of facemasks or shields is required.  

Ardele was born at Windom, Minnesota on August 9, 1928 to Adolph and Grace (Seeden) Martens. After graduation from Windom High School she attended Concordia Colleges at St Paul, Minnesota and Seward, Nebraska. She then taught in Lutheran Parochial School for five years.

In 1951 she was united in marriage to Ervin Menken. After Ervin graduated from the University of Minnesota they moved to Cedar Rapids in 1955. He passed away in 2005.

Ardele enjoyed serving her Lord through the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and Lutherans For Life. 

Ardele leaves to mourn two sons, Roger (Sue) and Rod (Deb) and five grandsons, Aaron, Nathan, Brennan, Keegan and Noah, one great grandson Owen, and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, one brother and two sisters preceded her in death.

In lieu of flowers, Ardele has suggested that memorials be given to Zion Lutheran Church, Zion Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, and Linn Area Lutherans For Life.
