Harold A. Smith, 75, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021. A celebration of life and burial will take place at a later date.
Harold Allen Smith was born on September 1, 1945 in Cedar Rapids to Robert and Elizabeth (Stauffer) Smith. Harold graduated from Washington High School in 1963. He was united in marriage to Donna McBurney on June 6, 1970. Harold worked as Maintenance Welder for 37 years at Cedarapids Inc. He also served as the Recording Secretary for the IAM Local 831 and the Chairman of the Shop Committee.
Harold’s two greatest joys in life besides his children and grandchildren were flying radio-controlled airplanes and camping.
Left to cherish Harold’s memories are his wife, Donna; children, Marc Smith and Alexandra (David) Hawkins; 6 grandchildren, Noah, Ryan, Declan, Merritt, Sydney, Wyatt; sister, Mary Kay Kuehl; sister-in-law, Linda (Ken) Core; and 21 nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Robert Jr.
