Bonnie Benford, 93, passed away from natural causes on December 27, 2021 in Richardson, Texas.
Pursuant to her wishes, there will be no public funeral services.
Bonnie was born on November 24, 1928, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Gerald and Glatha (Gable) Bradd. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and later completed dental assistant training. After working several years in dental offices, she was employed by Quaker Oats. She married James (Jim) Benford on April 4, 1953 and truly enjoyed being a military spouse for 13 years. Bonnie and Jim were active participants in veterans organizations and several churches after returning to Cedar Rapids in 1966. Bonnie loved taking trips, arranging flowers, baking cakes, celebrating special occasions, and keeping up with her children and grandchildren.
Bonnie is survived by her children and their spouses, Gary (Sandra) Benford, James Benford Jr., Shelly Benford (Jim Gregorich), David Benford, and Belinda Benford; grandchildren Jason Benford, Jennifer (Jeremy) Bigler, Christian Gregorich, Vivi Gregorich, Lachlan Benford and Ronan Benford, great grandchildren Aviana and Regina Bigler; and many nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Gerald Bradd Jr., Ronald Lyman, and Patricia Connor; and daughter Barbara.
