Tom and family- I was sorry to read of your dad's death. I always used to enjoy talking with him at the courthouse years ago while we were standing around waiting for the judge. He was fun to be around. Take care. Bill Stone

We were deeply saddened to learn of the loss of Lloyd. He was a bright light when we would visit my mother at Hallmar. He would talk about his sister who was in my mom's nursing school class. He was so friendly and helpful. He surprised our family one weekend with meals to the Starlite Room. What a joyful man who touched many lives. Sending prayers for his family.

Dear Tom and Kathleen and family please accept my condolences for the loss of your father. Tom, I remember you always being concerned and dedicated. It was so good to read that your Dad had an interesting and full life ! May he rest in peace! Barbara Ochs

Tom and Rose. I am sorry to learn of your Father's passing. Our Parents are the end of a wonderful era and I have spoken often to My friends of the wonderful childhood we enjoyed. Our Parents are the sole reason We are the good citizens we are today and I know they are smiling down. Dan and Michele Rees

To Delores, Tom, Rosemary & all the family. So sorry for your loss. I remember coming to his house in Martelle as a little girl with my parents. I thought that big tire swing he had was the best! I remember watching him play cards, his laugh, helping Grandma&Grandpa at their house in Anamosa. In later years I enjoyed visits with him at Hallmar with my Mom. He spoke often of his children& Grandchildren & I could tell how proud he was of them all. He was always so very kind to me and interested in what my family was up to. May you rest in eternal peace with Jesus our Lord Uncle Lloyd!

Tom, Kathleen and family—- I am sorry to learn of your loss of Lloyd. Lloyd was always great to visit with as he knew I was a NW Iowa farm girl and we enjoyed trading wonderful farm tales. He was just a good, caring man. Hold those good memories close to your hearts—- Carol Olson

Tom, Kathleen, Sarah and Kristen-To all my deep sympathy in your loss. My late husband, Judge Bill Thomas, really enjoyed having Mr. Aller as a bailiff in the Linn County courthouse. He always shared stories and greeted us both in restaurants. At Hallmar he would visit with us as Bill's mother was there. My special thoughts are always with Sarah and Kristen as I know what family means to you. May your many memories sustain you.

My sympathies on the passing of Lloyd. He was a resident of Hallmar during the time my husband lived there. We had many good conversations about his farm. I always admired his faith and positive outlook.

To Delores, Tom and family - Lloyd was such a wonderful guy. I know my dad loved the trips to Canada when Lloyd and Vern could join him. Always special times there. I can't recount the number of card games we have all had with Lloyd over the years. He always was ready for a game, full of life, chatting away, getting a kick out of who could beat whom. One of my most precious memories was when Dad was at St. Luke's having his second bipass operation in the same day after they discovered a bleeder. We were all so concerned. But, Lloyd got out a deck of cards. We played cards and it eased the tension, lightened our spirits. It was such a kind gesture. He had a great heart. Daniel, my son, played many games with Lloyd his granddad, Floyd, and grandmom, Marcel. We always got a kick out of the 2 cousins - Lloyd & Floyd. Those are precious memories. Wishing all of Lloyd's family the blessing of those special memories as comfort at this time.

So many memories of my only Uncle, Aunt Catherine. Tom, Rosemary, and their Home on the edge of Martelle. It was an adventure exploring the tool shed, corn field, elevator, back of the barn, and, especially, the second floor chicken coop...a visit to the Country. Lloyd was proud of his Rural Mail Carrier profession and was busy in their Blue Ribbon Garden. Over the years, and even lately, we would recall mostly true events and laugh. Best one: Lloyd, his Dad, Tom, and I were fishing in the dark backwaters of the Wapsi near the cemetery when Uncle Lloyd cast catching his Dad's glasses off his face launching them into the water. Not good!! Dilemma. Into to the dark abyss somewhat stripped down non buoyant Lloyd found the glasses. All were happy. Good luck, Lord.

Tom, Kathleen and Family My prayers and thoughts are with you for your loss of Lloyd. I will miss seeing you wheeling him around HyVee! ??

Tom, and family, I sure feel for your loss. Lloyd was my mail carrier during my youth while living in rural Martelle. It was clear from my first meeting Lloyd that he was a nice man, a decent man, a man who treated me like I was one of his friends -- even though I was a kid in secondary school. And then later in life our paths met again as we frequently happened to be having breakfast at the Mt Vernon Rd Hy-Vee restaurant. Even though he was with his friends he always acknowledged me and we had good conversation. He exemplified what I remember as rural Iowa -- good decent people who respected and enjoyed one another. I will miss him.

I was saddened to learn of Lloyds death. Thoughts are witih his family. Rich Patterson

Our deepest sympathy to all on your loss. Memories of Lloyd are his commanding voice, sincere smile and that he loved children. Gotta love a man that loves kids! Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult, sad time. Thanks Delores for the call, it was much appreciated. Anne and Jim Fitzpatrick

Lloyd is one of the last McCrea/Crowley family members to leave this world. Dad (Harold Crowley" had good visits with Lloyd when he was in Hallmar. He was a cheerful fellow! He even delivered a kitchen and table from the Anamosa furniture store for us in 1970--and we had a good visit then too.

My deepest sympathy, Tom, to you and your family on loss of your Dad. May God be with you.
